TestTakers

You’re psyched about the end of the term, prom and summer plans are on your mind, but you still have those annoying finals to deal with. Here are some tips on how to unearth the most viable answers to those multiple choice and true/false questions. We guarantee that these will only help some of the time.

  1. When an answer is absolute and contains words like “always, only, never, none, all, no, exactly, must, everything, etc,” those answers is usually false or invalid. Almost nothing happens the same way all the time (unless it’s a math test). But, don’t use this tip to eliminate “all of the above” or “none of the above” as potential answers.

  2. Conditional words like “sometimes, probably, mostly, typically, seldom, many, almost, usually, likely, etc.” are more apt to be true.

  3. None of the Above, is regularly a choice on most tests, however it is rarely the answer. The goal of the test is to help you learn, if “None of the Above” was the correct answer, you wouldn’t really learn anything from the question. Be careful of double negatives that the teacher may add to confuse you.

  4. All of the Above, if you start looking at answers and think definitely A is correct and maybe B and C, well “All of the Above” is likely the right answer. Again by having multiple correct answers the teacher gives you a better chance to learn more about the topic.

  5. If the answer is funny, it’s usually wrong. It’s the teacher have fun with the answers and giving you a little bit of a break narrowing down the answers.

  6. The longest response is often the correct one. Teachers do not want to spend their time writing wrong long answers. When you see lots of information and adjectives in an answer it may be a clue that it is the right response.

  7. Similarly, if a true/false question is longer than the others, then it is likely a true statement.

  8. When in doubt, typically, more answers are true than false.

  9. Statements that contain the word “because or since” have a better chance of being true. They explain why the statement is true.

  10. See if there’s a word in the question that matches a word in the answer. That might be a clue that the answer is linked to the question.

  11. Keep an eye out for grammar clues. If the lead in question ends with the article “an” the answer likely starts with a vowel. If it ends with an “a,” answers with vowels are likely incorrect.

  12. Also on the grammar front look for clues that an answer might be plural or singular. If the statement ends in “are” the answer should be plural, where if the last word is “is,” the answer should be singular.

  13. When two answers are opposite, then one of them is typically correct. This is the teacher taking the easy way out of coming up with a wrong answer. Use it to narrow your choices.

  14. Using the same theory, try to find words that look similar or answers that contain similar words. One of those is usually correct. Again the teacher is finding an easy way to give you a wrong answer option.

  15. When you have a number options on multiple choice (that is not a math test), typically the highest and lowest numbers are incorrect. They help frame the correct answer and may help to increase your chances.

  16. Finally, when you just run out of options, for teacher created tests, “C” is the most popular option and “B” is the second most popular.

Hopefully, these tips will make test taking a little easier. To make a night out a little more special most people would recommend:

A.   Getting a ride in a Big Yellow School Bus

B.   Reserving a Limo or Party Bus from Le Limo

C.   Asking a parent to drive you

D.   None of the above

If you picked B or if you need help with the answer call us at 800-297-8970. We'll take the worry out of prom, you just worry about the test!

Tailgating with Le Limo at Summer Concerts and more

Posted by Michael Foilb on Tue, May 31, 2016 @ 09:00 PM

One of the great thing about summer in New England is the opportunity to enjoy a great outdoor concert in one of the area's great venues. Whether is Kenny Chesney, U2, Cold Play, or Justin Bieber at Gillette Stadium, Don Henley, Bryan Adams, Moody Blues or Idina Menzel at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion Boston, Nickelback, Rod Steward or OneRepublic at the Xfinity Center, or maybe Lady Gaga, James Taylor or Billy Joel at Fenway Park, there's an option for every musical taste.

Party buses are extremely popular at these events. We can provide you with luxurious vehicle, suitable for safe beverage consumption, for you to pregame in with your friends as you anxiously wait for the concert to begin! Our Celebrity Party Bus holds up to 40 people

Other great options in central Massachusetts include the DCU Center and Hanover Theatre:

The Hanover Theatre is gorgeous and hosts every type of show which includes concerts, comedy shows, plays, etc.  I personally have attended a concert at each of these venues and they all are great and provide a diverse schedule of events and concerts.

There are great options for nights out at Mohegan Sun Arena and the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods. And of course, there are entertainment options beyond the concert scene, sporting events, night out, bachelor/ette parties, sweet 16 parties and more.

Enjoy New England this summer.

A Party Bus versus a Party on a Bus

Posted by Michael Foilb on Wed, Nov 19, 2014 @ 09:28 PM

Party buses are all the rage these days. People hire them for nights out, bachelor/bachelorette parties, sweet 16, proms, rehearsal dinners, sporting events, theater nights, scavenger hunts, graduation, casino packages, holiday parties and more. It’s a great way to get a large group together for a fun time while splitting the cost among a gang of friends.

Interior of our Land Yacht, the ultimate party bus

We get calls every day about our party buses and our trolley. Le Limo’s fleet has a wide variety of options based on the number of passengers you’re inviting and how you want the bus to look and feel. We have our 28-passenger Luxury Liner, our 26 passenger Land Yacht (the staff favorite), our 18 passenger Cabin Cruisers and the Mercedes Sprinters. But they all have a different atmosphere. The Land Yacht is the ultimate party bus. It’s like a night club on wheels. Two bars, surround sound stereo, fiber optic color changing lights, slate floor, wrap around perimeter seating, DVD/CD combos, an intercom systems, 40” LCD TVs, touch screen control panels and a privacy divider. It’s hard not to have fun on the Land Yacht.

But there is a difference between a party bus and a party on a bus. While guests even have a blast on our shuttle bus, we’ve seen some pretty sorry excuses for a party bus. School buses painted bright colors do not make a party bus. Forward facing seats isn’t really a party bus. The key to any great time is to spend it with great people, but spending that time on a great ride is icing on the cake.

A party bus has the amenities you crave for a great time. Don’t settle for just a bus, oh you’ll save money, but you want to make sure your friends are still talking to you when they get on board. While you can get a decent sense of what a party bus looks like online, we strongly suggest you go check out the bus in-person. Minimally, ask lots of questions, make sure that what you see is what you get. Le Limo has an Open House every Saturday from noon to 3 PM. However, we do urge you to call if you're considering a specific bus, it might be rented when you come by.

We’ve heard stories of buses not being cleaned, smelling of alcohol and cigarettes, ripped leather, no glasses, no ice…just a bare bones bus. Then there are some things you may think are great features on a party bus that just don’t quite pan out as planned.

People sometimes ask for a bathroom, while we’ve had party buses in the past that have had a bathroom, we got more complaints than anything else. Did you ever try to share a bathroom with 28 of your closest friends after a night of drinking? Enough said.Le Limo also stopped offering buses with a stripper pole. Again this sounds like a good idea until someone who’s had too much to drink is hanging upside down 5 feet in the air and suddenly loses their grip. Liability issues arise for the event organizer, the night club, the limo company and it can be ugly.

Please be aware that our bigger vehicles are one-of-a-kind party buses, they regulary sell out during peak periods like, proms, weddings and Patriots games. We pride ourselves on being high-end luxury providers that offer a sense of class and elegance. We don’t just offer a bus for a party, we offer top-tier party buses. Check out our selection, call us, visit us and ask questions. Make sure you hire the party bus that is right for you.

Blackout Wednesday - Consider the Livery Option

Posted by Michael Foilb on Wed, Nov 05, 2014 @ 03:27 PM

Blackout Wednesday

You know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday but are you familiar with Blackout Wednesday? It’s the night before the Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving eve has become associated with binge drinking because very few people have work on Thanksgiving. Plus college students all over the country come home to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with their families. They get together with old high school friends in their hometowns and over indulge in alcohol consumption.

The day gets its name because folks are "blacking out", which is memory loss due to excessive alcohol intoxication. In many parts of the country Blackout Wednesday is the most popular bar night of the year, ahead of both New Year’s Eve and St. Patrick’s Day. Which leads to this night being one of the top drunk driving night of the year in some cities. Authorities report the day has become one of the deadliest nights of the year for young adults.

So whether you’re a participant or a parent of a college student home to party with friends please be extra safe. Even if you’re not drinking, the guy in the other car may be drunk. If you don’t have a designated driver please give us a call to set up transportation for a safe night out.

We can provide Party Buses, Limos, Mercedes Sprinters and more.

What's the Big Deal about a Dishwasher?

Posted by Michael Foilb on Fri, Sep 12, 2014 @ 04:32 PM

At Le Limo, we have our own dishwasher!!

Dishwasher

Why does that matter? Because we use it to clean our glassware the day before every vehicle goes out for a job.

Isn't that obvious? Well you'd think so but with so many small livery companies in the area, they just don't have space, time or budget to run their stemware through a dishwasher. Many don't even use glassware. They simply take it out of the vehicle figuring if you needed it you would have asked for it.

Some just skip the dishwasher stage. Well we've actually heard of stories where companies clean the glasses with glass cleaner and paper towel. Maybe some people like that fresh Windex flavor?

Then again, several companies just use plastic cups. We think that when you're paying for a night out draped in elegance, you deserve real glass.

At Le Limo, our sedans, limos, party buses, shuttle bus, SUVs, trolley, Sprinters, etc. all have real glasses, cleaned in a the dishwasher shown above. Many of our vehicles have two bars with a combination of highball and champagne glasses. There's a lot to keep clean.

How does this make us a great limousine company? Well, it's one of the many little things that we do to sweat the details. For us, it's all about exceeding your expectations. Every trip with Le Limo is a little bit more elegant than our competitors. It's our attention to the minutiae that earns us accolades from our customers, Angie's List, WGBH's Boston A-list, The Knot, Wedding Wire, etc. While we make sure to get the big stuff right, part of the what seperates us from other livery companies is our ability to get the small stuff right.

Our mantra is to do more and to help you Return to an Era of Unparalleled Luxury!

4 Steps to Find the Right Party Bus

Posted by Michael Foilb on Wed, Jul 24, 2013 @ 04:29 PM

    Le Limo's Party Bus

The interior of LeLimo's 26-passenger land yacht

Are you planning a night out for you and your friends? Whether it’s a concert, a bachelor/bachelorette party, sweet 16, sporting event, etc., why not spice up the night with a party bus. It adds a component of safety, no drinking and driving, it’s simply a blast. When choosing a party bus, there are elements to consider in regard to amenities on board, capacity, safety, etc. There are numerous choices, look for these features just before picking a limousine or party bus rent:

    1. Entertainment Anemities

Because you desire to party, it goes without stating that you would certainly choose a limo with party attributes. Most of these party buses will have a fun light show and TV/DVD options. Also make sure there’s a bar with an ice chest and full glassware. Some companies take out the glass for safety. Do you want an iPad hook up? The right party bus will resemble a moving night club.

    2. Capacity of the Party Bus

How many people are going with you? If you are going out with the whole team, are you sure that that the vehicle has the ideal capability. But check the legal passenger allowance for the vehicle. A legitimate company will never let you exceed capacity. Plus when looking at the cost of the night out, think about the cost per person. The party bus is part of the entertainment.

    3. Safety Features

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has very specific safety guidelines. But they are not always adhered to. Make sure your bus has an escape route and a fire extinguisher in case of emergency. Is it big enough to comfortable walk around so that the parties are stuck in their seats? If you need tables for food, game playing etc., ask the limousine company if they can accommodate you. For many a major component of a night out is drinking, obviously, the safest way home is to let someone else drive you. A party bus helps make it a worry-free night.

    4. Pick the Right Company

Make sure that you examine their track records and read the reviews and ratings online submitted by customers. Contact you nearby BBB as well as from internet forums and also see if the business you are interested in is legit as well as respectable.

Le Limo has started in 1986 has expertise in providing party transportation. We have 5 star reviews on multiple sites and an A+ rating from the BBB. To learn more call us at 508-842-4790.
