TestTakers

You’re psyched about the end of the term, prom and summer plans are on your mind, but you still have those annoying finals to deal with. Here are some tips on how to unearth the most viable answers to those multiple choice and true/false questions. We guarantee that these will only help some of the time.

  1. When an answer is absolute and contains words like “always, only, never, none, all, no, exactly, must, everything, etc,” those answers is usually false or invalid. Almost nothing happens the same way all the time (unless it’s a math test). But, don’t use this tip to eliminate “all of the above” or “none of the above” as potential answers.

  2. Conditional words like “sometimes, probably, mostly, typically, seldom, many, almost, usually, likely, etc.” are more apt to be true.

  3. None of the Above, is regularly a choice on most tests, however it is rarely the answer. The goal of the test is to help you learn, if “None of the Above” was the correct answer, you wouldn’t really learn anything from the question. Be careful of double negatives that the teacher may add to confuse you.

  4. All of the Above, if you start looking at answers and think definitely A is correct and maybe B and C, well “All of the Above” is likely the right answer. Again by having multiple correct answers the teacher gives you a better chance to learn more about the topic.

  5. If the answer is funny, it’s usually wrong. It’s the teacher have fun with the answers and giving you a little bit of a break narrowing down the answers.

  6. The longest response is often the correct one. Teachers do not want to spend their time writing wrong long answers. When you see lots of information and adjectives in an answer it may be a clue that it is the right response.

  7. Similarly, if a true/false question is longer than the others, then it is likely a true statement.

  8. When in doubt, typically, more answers are true than false.

  9. Statements that contain the word “because or since” have a better chance of being true. They explain why the statement is true.

  10. See if there’s a word in the question that matches a word in the answer. That might be a clue that the answer is linked to the question.

  11. Keep an eye out for grammar clues. If the lead in question ends with the article “an” the answer likely starts with a vowel. If it ends with an “a,” answers with vowels are likely incorrect.

  12. Also on the grammar front look for clues that an answer might be plural or singular. If the statement ends in “are” the answer should be plural, where if the last word is “is,” the answer should be singular.

  13. When two answers are opposite, then one of them is typically correct. This is the teacher taking the easy way out of coming up with a wrong answer. Use it to narrow your choices.

  14. Using the same theory, try to find words that look similar or answers that contain similar words. One of those is usually correct. Again the teacher is finding an easy way to give you a wrong answer option.

  15. When you have a number options on multiple choice (that is not a math test), typically the highest and lowest numbers are incorrect. They help frame the correct answer and may help to increase your chances.

  16. Finally, when you just run out of options, for teacher created tests, “C” is the most popular option and “B” is the second most popular.

A.   Getting a ride in a Big Yellow School Bus

B.   Reserving a Limo or Party Bus from Le Limo

C.   Asking a parent to drive you

D.   None of the above

Tracking Our Limos, Cars, Party Buses and Chauffeurs

Posted by Michael Foilb on Sat, Nov 29, 2014 @ 05:51 PM

DriverAnywhere

Part of the challenge of managing a fleet with 30 different vehicles is keeping track of where they all are and what the status is of each job. Le Limo uses DriverAnywhere. It’s an app that runs on a tablet or smartphone and streamlines and automates most of the tasks that smaller companies still do manually.

DriverAnywhere, empowers drivers to update reservation statuses as the ride progresses, they log status updates in our core software system, additionally, the system has the functionality to create electronic signatures for car-side client communication.

The program automates the driver assignment tasks with push notifications. Chauffeurs get updated every time they are assigned a new job or if there is a change in a job in progress. Drivers can accept or update trip status in real-time. Every vehicle, limo, sedan, SUV, party bus, trolley, stretch SUV or Mercedes Sprinter is updated in our central dispatch system with a single tap on a screen.

It allows us to track:
  • Dispatched
  • Customer in Car
  • On the way
  • Arrived
  • Complete
  • Waiting for Customer
If you’re ever looking for an update on a ride or the ride of an associate, we’ll have the answer at our fingertips. It’s just one example of the technology that we invest in that helps ensure that the passenger comes first. At Le Limo, we think it exemplifies how we stand out from the rest of the pack.

Information Your Limo Service will Want from You

Posted by Michael Foilb on Wed, Apr 16, 2014 @ 02:38 PM

Girls Night Out in a Limo

Getting the right limo often depends on making sure you give the limousine company all the proper information. Here’s a list of the facts we recommend you have prior to calling to make a reservation.

  • They need to know the type of event. Do you want to hire them for a Wedding, Bachelor/Bachelorette Party, Airport Transfer, Point-to-Point Transfer, Night Out, Birthday Party, Sweet 16, Tour, Casino Trip, Concert, Prom, Meeting or  Special Event. Some rentals have minimum hour requirements and some are just a set fee.

This information helps the company plan your trip. They may offer Scavenger Hunts for a Sweet 16 or Bachelorette Party. They may offer red carpet service for the bride. There could be special comp packages at casinos or VIP treatment packages and free passes at night clubs.

  • Tell them the date of your event and how long do you need your rental to be. The date is important even if you’re just looking for quotes. The company can only quote based on vehicle availability. As you plan your excursion, consider the time you want to be at your final destination. You need to consider the drive time when planning your length of service requirements.

  • Determine how many people will be traveling with you. This will affect what type of vehicle you can ride in. While switching from 12 to 13 passengers sounds simple enough, you’re likely to have to change from a limo to a party bus with that extra passenger. There are two considerations. First how many people can the vehicle legally hold? The Department of Transportation sets this guideline and it is strictly enforced. Secondly, how many people fit comfortably? If you’re going to be in the vehicle for a long time, you may want to ask about the "suggested" passenger count.

Here are all the types of vehicles available:

  1. Sedans (mostly Town cars but sometimes Chrysler 300s, recommended for 1 to 3 travelers)

  2. SUVs (good option for those traveling with lots of luggage, they can hold up to 6 Passengers)

  3. 6 Passenger Limousine (Seats 4 comfortably)

  4. 8 Passenger Limousine (Seats 6 comfortably)

  5. 10 Passenger Limousine (Seats 8 comfortably)

  6. 12 Passenger Limousine (Seats 10 comfortably)

  7. 12 Passenger Mercedes Sprinter (Seats 10 comfortably)

  8. 12 Passenger Stretch SUV (Seats 10 comfortably)

  9. 18 Passenger Limo Bus (Seats 16 comfortably)

  10. 26 to 28 Party Buses (Seats 24 to 26 comfortably)

  11. 35 Passenger Trolley (Seats 33 comfortably)

  12. 36 Passenger Shuttle Bus (Seats 36 comfortable)

  • Decide what amenities do you need. If you planning to bring a DVD to watch on the flat screen or an iPod to listen to, etc., ask the limo company if they can accommodate those requests. Consider all the details for your ride. Do you need ice, bottle water or glassware? Ask if they can offer what you need.

  • Be prepared to pay if you want to reserve. Almost always you have to put down a deposit in order to hold the rental. Unlike hotels or airlines, there’s not waiting list or stand by passengers waiting to use the transportation if you cancel. The limo company needs your commitment or they risk losing other rental opportunities for the vehicle. You can typically pay with cash or credit card and the balance would be due at the start of your ride.

The reservationist is there to help. Just give them all the information so that they can help you make the best choice. Consider Le Limo, we strive to help you Return to an Era of Unparalleled Luxury. Call for a "limo consult," 508-842-4790.

Using a Limo to Make a Great First Impression on a Prospect

Posted by Michael Foilb on Mon, Sep 30, 2013 @ 02:22 PM

You’re trying to impress a client, you need to make a great first impression and your competition is trying to do the same thing. You need to stand out. Not only do you have to dress the part, present yourself with great aplomb and represent your company, you have to know when to go the extra mile in trying to influence your prospective partner.

handshake resized 600

When traveling with or hosting a prospect, your obligation, is to ensure that your potential customer travels in comfort and luxury. A major opportunity to making a great impression is to provide executive livery for all their commutes. Whether it’s an airport pick up, a business lunch, a meeting or a dinner, renting a limo is the ultimate opportunity to win new customers.

Do you really want your potential clients to wait in line for a rental car and then have to find their way to your office? Or have them wait in a taxi line hoping they’ll end up in a cab that’s clean and a driver that knows where they’re going?

This is where your distinctive thoroughness can give you a competitive advantage. Surprise your client with car service the moment their plane lands. Have a chauffeur in baggage claim with your prospect’s name on a sign. Give them the benefit of having a professional driver for their traveling. The driver will help them with their bags and make sure they get to the right location in style. Once they’re in the back of a luxury vehicle, they’ll have the opportunity to relax, make phone calls, answer emails or review work. Your clients will be grateful for the service you have provided for them.

Order the Right Car

Consider a luxury sedan, capable of comfortably seating up to three passengers with luggage. Whether it’s a Lincoln or Chrysler sedan, your prospect will love the high-end, pristine feel of the vehicle as they climb in the back. With leather seating, free bottled water and plenty of room to stretch out, their trip to the meeting becomes a treat instead of a chore.

A chauffeured SUV offers seating for up to four passengers and has space for even the most challenging sets of luggage. The pristine black interior with comfortable wrap around seating provides maximum comfort in a relaxed ride.

A stretch limousine is the ultimate in luxury travel for an important visiting client.  A limo makes the ultimate first impression. With its stunning appearance, it offers the utmost in interior comfort. Limos are equipped with leather seating that can accommodate up to 10 passengers. The vehicles have bars with glass stemware and bottle water on ice. There’s a privacy divider to ensure that the passengers have complete confidentiality and quiet in the back of the vehicle. There is also a DVD player and state of the art sound system for those who want to be entertained on their ride.

Impressing a prospect requires a lot of work, planning, proposing, presenting and providing them with the product or service they need. But starting their visit in the lap of luxury makes the kind of first impression that sets the foundation of a successful business partnership.

Limo Safety

Posted by Michael Foilb on Wed, May 15, 2013 @ 03:34 PM

Unfortunately, there have been a lot of stories in the news lately about limousine safety. We recognize that this is a major concern for all our customers and frankly, it is why we make it a top priority.

At Le Limo we do things a little bit differently than some of our competitors. We typically don’t boast about our safety record and procedures, we think it should be part of the expectation of hiring a limo company. But since it’s been in the news we wanted to share some of the aspects of our safety procedures.

Every Le Limo party bus, every limo, every trolley and every coach is equipped with a fire extinguisher. All of our buses have been designed with an emergency exit. We go through a stringent review process with the Department of Transportation. It is part of our corporate philosophy to exceed their minimum safety requirements. We don’t cut corners on safety…not even a little bit.

Our drivers visually inspect the fleet prior to every run to ensure that everything is in operating as designed. Le Limo is one of the only limousines in the state that has its own in-house repair shop. We have certified mechanics making repairs as needed based on a feedback from our drivers.

Drivers are prohibited from drinking alcohol prior or during their assigned run. Le Limo performs random and unannounced drug tests on drivers sporadically throughout the calendar year to ensure that they are not under the influence of any narcotics.

Each month every car goes through a thorough safety inspection and routine maintenance is performed per the manufacturer’s guidelines. Tires are routinely inspected for tread wear and changed regularly with our equipment in-house.

We just don’t think safety should be your concern when you hire a limousine. We think it should be our concern.

Do you own your Limos?

Posted by Michael Foilb on Mon, May 13, 2013 @ 01:48 PM

This question is being raised more often because of the proliferation of limo brokers. There’s a whole industry of limousine companies that are really just marketing firms. They promote the service and then hire other companies to do the work.  The brokers aren’t really limousine companies but rather they coordinate and farm out work.

They take your reservation online and on the phone like any limo company. Next they start contacting real limousine companies and look for the lowest cost provider to give the work to. They make money on the spread between your quoted rate and the discounted rate they get from their sub out company.

But when they hire the lowest cost driver, they usually send you the lowest quality rental. They may use older vehicles in their fleet, they are likely to have inexperienced drivers and they are unlikely to have the customer service you need. If anything isn’t as planned, the broker can’t help you, he doesn’t have any limos.

Do you own your limos? Yes, at Le Limo we own our cars. Our fleet of over 30 vehicles includes sedans, SUVs, limos, party buses, Mercedes Sprinters, a classic Rolls Royce and our custom-bulit trolley. If your plans change; if your flight is delayed; if you need to add more passengers to rental…we can usually take care of it for you on the spot.

When you hire Le Limo your job is run by Le Limo. It’s the way we’ve been doing business since 1986.
