  3. No beverages are allowed in the back of the limo.
  4. All bags are stored in the trunk or cargo area and subject to search.
  5. All passengers must remain SEATED and all body parts must remain inside the vehicle at all times.

Posted by Michael Foilb on Tue, May 31, 2016 @ 09:00 PM

One of the great thing about summer in New England is the opportunity to enjoy a great outdoor concert in one of the area's great venues. Whether is Kenny Chesney, U2, Cold Play, or Justin Bieber at Gillette Stadium, Don Henley, Bryan Adams, Moody Blues or Idina Menzel at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion Boston, Nickelback, Rod Steward or OneRepublic at the Xfinity Center, or maybe Lady Gaga, James Taylor or Billy Joel at Fenway Park, there's an option for every musical taste.

Party buses are extremely popular at these events. We can provide you with luxurious vehicle, suitable for safe beverage consumption, for you to pregame in with your friends as you anxiously wait for the concert to begin! Our Celebrity Party Bus holds up to 40 people

Other great options in central Massachusetts include the DCU Center and Hanover Theatre:

The Hanover Theatre is gorgeous and hosts every type of show which includes concerts, comedy shows, plays, etc.  I personally have attended a concert at each of these venues and they all are great and provide a diverse schedule of events and concerts.

There are great options for nights out at Mohegan Sun Arena and the MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods. And of course, there are entertainment options beyond the concert scene, sporting events, night out, bachelor/ette parties, sweet 16 parties and more.

Enjoy New England this summer.

The Limo WOW Factor

Posted by Michael Foilb on Thu, Dec 10, 2015 @ 11:55 AM

0009

A black limo slowly passes by you on the street.  You turn an look and wonder, "who is in that limo?".  This never gets old for all of us at Le Limo.  From a very young age I personally was fascinated by the mystery a limo held.  To this day many of our clients are "First Timers".  We love the look on their faces as we pull into their driveway to whisk them away on a special adventure.

These trips are fun and enjoyable for our professional career chauffeurs as well.  During the week they perform services for many of the high profile corporate CEO's that come to Boston and Worcester on business.  These client's are not only used to the livery experience, but expect to be handled with the utmost care.  They do not tend to be  surprised or excited to enter a limousine.  So our chauffeurs truly enjoy our retail limousine customers who have never experienced limousine travel in Boston and Worcester, MA.  These clients are giddy with excitement, snap lots of photos and instantly upload them to social media.

So if you have NEVER had a limo ride, I suggest you get some friends and or family together for any event you can come up with and call us to reserve your first trip. Live the Limo Life.

Issues with Rogue Car/Limo Ride Apps

Posted by Michael Foilb on Mon, May 05, 2014 @ 03:27 PM

The new hot "trend" in the transportation world is the proliferation of rogue app ride-service companies. But while these companies are winning customers, they are stepping away when problems arise with their clients. When you hire their service, whether it’s a sedan or a limo, your payment goes to the app company, but to quote one of the bigger companies:

The provision of the transportation services by the Transportation Provider to you is…(an) agreement to be entered into between you and the Transportation Provider. Uber shall never be a party to such agreement.

Uber

So you book your ride and then the app company, the company that picks your driver, then tells you that they “shall never be a party to such agreement!” They’re saying they'll set up your ride, but they’re not responsible for it. That’s like the going to the hospital and having administrators say, “We’re not responsible for anything that happens between you and the doctor.”

So what do you do if something goes wrong? While negative incidents and lawsuits begin to pile up in the future because of the lack of proper insurance, driver qualifications, and vehicle safety, where does that leave the customer? There have been multiple reports of criminal charges against drivers. Do you think the app company is going to help you?

In Boston a licensed taxi cab medallions is valued at $600,000. Is it reasonable that these app companies don’t have to compete in that same space? Uber in Boston has been issued a cease and desist order by Division of Standards of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts which stated “until the National Institute of Standards and Technology has guidelines in place for GPS location technology,” the company cannot provide their application to the public.

Uber has ignored the state order.

In Cambridge, Uber drivers have been issued citations for operating an unlicensed livery service and for using a measuring device not conforming to state standards.

That said, there are several high quality livery companies that do take bookings from the rogue app companies. Just make sure you know what you’re getting. With the new ride share programs, anyone with a driver’s license and insurance can accept work from the app folks.

At a recent industry conference, one limo company president said, “I never thought the government would allow these companies to operate with commercial insurance policies. These companies will look you in the eye and lie (about their operations) and they haven’t come forward to be fully transparent … we have to get the facts out there,” he added.

Industry insiders predict that when the government sees that these rogue app companies operate illegally, don’t have the proper insurance or licensing, they will realize that they made a mistake and there will be changes.

So far there has been no intervention and no enforcement of law, so these companies are operating without proper insurance; they do not have driver training requirements or vehicle safety standards. There are DOT, DPU and MassPort guidelines designed to protect the passenger. There are rules about passenger limits, emergency escape hatches, fire extinguishers, drug testing, OSHA guidelines and more. Le Limo abides by those laws. We have professionally-trained drivers who are randomly drug screened. The drivers are our employees and they are in the sedans, limos and party buses that we own.

Without change, there will be a race to the bottom with price wars and no standards. We would like to think that safety and professionalism will be a key component of making sure limousine companies work the way they are supposed to.

Even though you don’t expect to be involved in an accident, make sure that you’re making smart safe choices when you get a ride.

Information Your Limo Service will Want from You

Posted by Michael Foilb on Wed, Apr 16, 2014 @ 02:38 PM

Girls Night Out in a Limo

Getting the right limo often depends on making sure you give the limousine company all the proper information. Here’s a list of the facts we recommend you have prior to calling to make a reservation.

  • They need to know the type of event. Do you want to hire them for a Wedding, Bachelor/Bachelorette Party, Airport Transfer, Point-to-Point Transfer, Night Out, Birthday Party, Sweet 16, Tour, Casino Trip, Concert, Prom, Meeting or  Special Event. Some rentals have minimum hour requirements and some are just a set fee.

This information helps the company plan your trip. They may offer Scavenger Hunts for a Sweet 16 or Bachelorette Party. They may offer red carpet service for the bride. There could be special comp packages at casinos or VIP treatment packages and free passes at night clubs.

  • Tell them the date of your event and how long do you need your rental to be. The date is important even if you’re just looking for quotes. The company can only quote based on vehicle availability. As you plan your excursion, consider the time you want to be at your final destination. You need to consider the drive time when planning your length of service requirements.

  • Determine how many people will be traveling with you. This will affect what type of vehicle you can ride in. While switching from 12 to 13 passengers sounds simple enough, you’re likely to have to change from a limo to a party bus with that extra passenger. There are two considerations. First how many people can the vehicle legally hold? The Department of Transportation sets this guideline and it is strictly enforced. Secondly, how many people fit comfortably? If you’re going to be in the vehicle for a long time, you may want to ask about the "suggested" passenger count.

Here are all the types of vehicles available:

  1. Sedans (mostly Town cars but sometimes Chrysler 300s, recommended for 1 to 3 travelers)

  2. SUVs (good option for those traveling with lots of luggage, they can hold up to 6 Passengers)

  3. 6 Passenger Limousine (Seats 4 comfortably)

  4. 8 Passenger Limousine (Seats 6 comfortably)

  5. 10 Passenger Limousine (Seats 8 comfortably)

  6. 12 Passenger Limousine (Seats 10 comfortably)

  7. 12 Passenger Mercedes Sprinter (Seats 10 comfortably)

  8. 12 Passenger Stretch SUV (Seats 10 comfortably)

  9. 18 Passenger Limo Bus (Seats 16 comfortably)

  10. 26 to 28 Party Buses (Seats 24 to 26 comfortably)

  11. 35 Passenger Trolley (Seats 33 comfortably)

  12. 36 Passenger Shuttle Bus (Seats 36 comfortable)

  • Decide what amenities do you need. If you planning to bring a DVD to watch on the flat screen or an iPod to listen to, etc., ask the limo company if they can accommodate those requests. Consider all the details for your ride. Do you need ice, bottle water or glassware? Ask if they can offer what you need.

  • Be prepared to pay if you want to reserve. Almost always you have to put down a deposit in order to hold the rental. Unlike hotels or airlines, there’s not waiting list or stand by passengers waiting to use the transportation if you cancel. The limo company needs your commitment or they risk losing other rental opportunities for the vehicle. You can typically pay with cash or credit card and the balance would be due at the start of your ride.

The reservationist is there to help. Just give them all the information so that they can help you make the best choice. Consider Le Limo, we strive to help you Return to an Era of Unparalleled Luxury. Call for a "limo consult," 508-842-4790.

Getting in and out of Logan - A Guide to Airport Transportation

Posted by Michael Foilb on Wed, May 22, 2013 @ 04:03 PM

sedan

Whether you’re heading in or out of Boston’s Logan International Airport, you’re always looking for the best, easiest and most cost effective way to the airport. You can ask a friend, but seriously, friends don’t make friends drive them to the airport. So what are the options?

Drive yourself

Drive and park is an obvious option, but it’s not exactly easy. When you park at the airport for 24 hours and 1 minute the rate is $41, then you pay $27 for each additional day. It adds up pretty quickly. Plus you get to deal with the angst of driving in traffic, finding a place to park and then schlepping yourself and your luggage to the right terminal. When you get back you get to play, “find my car” in the maze of parking spaces. It can be a major hassle.

Logan Express

Parking is only $7/day and your round trip fare is $22. Not a bad option cost wise. However, you do have to get to the bus early, wait up to 30 minutes, drive in circles around the airport, stopping at every terminal and then drag your luggage on and off the bus. If you have the time and energy, it’s a viable option.

Taxi

For most passengers their first instinct is to jump in a cab. But, before you do that, you have to wait in a line and then hope the rate is reasonable. The fact is, the Boston Globe reported in March of 2013 that Boston has the “highest taxi rates among major US cities.”  And as far as insurance coverage goes, the Globe report said, “Passengers in city cabs are put at direct financial risk because cab owners are allowed to buy the bare minimum bodily injury insurance —not even half the coverage required of bike messengers.” (Le Limo has a $2 million liability policy.)

Once you hail a cab outside the airport, the driver will often charge you a flat rate. Well the flat rates aren’t regulated by the city. And to complicate things, different cab companies charge different flat rates. You don’t know what the fee will be until you get in the cab.

Le Limo

Sure we’re biased, but the fact is we quote one all-inclusive flat-fee based on the driving distance. We give you a rate that includes the fuel surcharge, the tolls, the Massport fee and the recommended gratuity to the driver. We also let you know if early AM fees apply.

We admit it, it might cost a little more to hire us, but you can relish the stress-free ride to the airport. Enjoy the comfort our just-cleaned corporate sedans, SUVs and limousines. Plus you get a professionally-trained chauffeur who will treat you with respect. Your diver will be waiting for you at the airport and load your luggage for you. No cab line, no surprise costs, no smelly taxi, no stress. Maybe it’s time to consider our flat-rate services to and from the airport. We offer an elegant option for airport transportation. Our goal is to help you return to an era of unparalleled luxury.

Do you own your Limos?

Posted by Michael Foilb on Mon, May 13, 2013 @ 01:48 PM

This question is being raised more often because of the proliferation of limo brokers. There’s a whole industry of limousine companies that are really just marketing firms. They promote the service and then hire other companies to do the work.  The brokers aren’t really limousine companies but rather they coordinate and farm out work.

They take your reservation online and on the phone like any limo company. Next they start contacting real limousine companies and look for the lowest cost provider to give the work to. They make money on the spread between your quoted rate and the discounted rate they get from their sub out company.

But when they hire the lowest cost driver, they usually send you the lowest quality rental. They may use older vehicles in their fleet, they are likely to have inexperienced drivers and they are unlikely to have the customer service you need. If anything isn’t as planned, the broker can’t help you, he doesn’t have any limos.

Do you own your limos? Yes, at Le Limo we own our cars. Our fleet of over 30 vehicles includes sedans, SUVs, limos, party buses, Mercedes Sprinters, a classic Rolls Royce and our custom-bulit trolley. If your plans change; if your flight is delayed; if you need to add more passengers to rental…we can usually take care of it for you on the spot.

When you hire Le Limo your job is run by Le Limo. It’s the way we’ve been doing business since 1986.

 Chrysler300NEW resized 600

Our latest edition, a brand-new 2013 Chrylser 300, 10-passenger. Yes, we own it!
