Take a Limo to Your Boston Theater Event

Posted by Kyle Harris on Fri, Sep 28, 2012 @ 01:58 PM

Boston has always been an artistic city.  It’s an urban landscape filled with culture, youth and passion.  Like any metropolitan city, the theater is a fixture.  Boston stakes claim to one of the oldest theater cultures in the country, and although it’s no Broadway, still plays host to many of the most notable shows and performances in modern day.

A night out at the theater is an experience like no other, especially given the large range of historic theaters in the city:  The Strand, Charles Playhouse, Orpheum Theater, and the Colonial Theater.  There’s an essence of romance and nostalgia at the theater.  It’s as if you’re subconsciously having a historic experience knowing that the theater is an ancient form of entertainment that has stayed relatively the same over time.  I mean we still watch Shakespeare for instance, and that guys old as hell!

The few times I’ve gone to the theater I always feel swanky, as if I should be sporting a top hat and a twirly mustache with a monocle, smoking a Sherlock Holmes esque’ pipe and engaging in elaborate conversations about vintage scotches.  There’s a sense of luxury that comes with going to the theater, and it’s something we desire.

Any one of our limos or sedans would be perfect for a classy night out at the theater.  They’re sleek, luxurious, warm and comforting, and will definitely have the artisan Bostonites turning heads and wondering who the high roller in the decked out limo is (this would be the perfect time to emerge from the car with the full top hat, mustache, monocle ensemble…just sayin).  If being a little flashy is your style check out our cars.  But either way, get out to the theater and go get entertained!

Armsby Abbey, A Worcester Favorite

Posted by Kyle Harris on Thu, Sep 06, 2012 @ 02:38 PM

Armsby 1

Here at Le Limo we love food.  We order to the office and sneak out to restaurants for lunch whenever we get a chance and we’re always looking for the next greatest restaurant in Worcester.  We’ve been to Via, The Sole Proprietor, Baba and Mezcal but we wanted something new.  Something different that would make our taste buds scream.  Well we found it at Armsby Abbey on Main Street near the courthouse.

If you’re a food and beer lover, Armsby will make you cry sweet tears of happiness.  With only nine tables in the old style British pub, Armsby is quaint, intimate and organic, literally.  Not only does the place have a natural, rustic feel, but also, all the food is organically grown at local farms, ensuring the finest quality for its patrons.  Most of the beer is local too coming from small craft breweries in New England.  The bartender that served me was incredible and I was astonished about how knowledgeable she was.  After pouring my beer from the unmarked row of taps (really cool) she divulged into a long story and analysis about the brew.  I learned more about Belgian IPA’s just from that one beer than I have drinking anywhere else.  Drinking beer at Armsby is like basking in a fountain of sweet gold on mount Olympus.  It’s magical!

describe the imageWhile the beer is phenomenal, the food is by far the highlight.  Armsby has a huge variety of cheese platters, which are paired with their different beers on tap.  But the food, oh the food!  Most of it’s pretty basic; sandwiches, burgers, salads, flat bread pizzas and some apps.  I ordered the grilled cheese and let me tell you, it redefined my perspective on the sandwich.  Made with local Gouda and white cheddar, they fill the cheesy delight with smoked bacon, spinach and the coup de gras, peaches from Tougas Farm in Northborough.  Now if you’re thinking, “ew peaches that sounds weird”, you need to get out of the shadows and live a little.  It’s amazing!  Everything paired perfectly together and each ingredient complimented the other.  The bread was golden brown and the cheese warm and gooey, the perfect grilled cheese.  The sandwich came with a simple side salad of fresh greens and radishes with a lemon vinaigrette.  It was perfect to cleanse the pallet, making every bite of grilled cheese feel like the first time.

I highly recommend Armsby Abbey to anyone looking to have an incredible gastronomic experience.  In my opinion it’s some of the best food for the price in Worcester.  My sandwich cost $12 and was worth every penny.  It accommodates all ages and anyone can find something they like.  So check it out, I promise you’ll walk out with a full belly and a smile on your face!

Kick the Hassle with Songkick

Posted by Kyle Harris on Wed, Aug 22, 2012 @ 11:52 AM

Like most employees at Le Limo I’m a music buff.  Going to concerts to see my favorite bands and musicians has always been a passion of mine.  But I always found that I would hear of a concert the day of the show or miss it because I failed to research concert dates or thoroughly follow bands on their social sites.  I always thought that it would be incredible if I could find out about all my favorite concerts coming to the Boston and Worcester area without having to lift a finger.

Well my prayers were answered by a relatively new mobile app called Songkick.  You WILL have to lift a finger, a little bit, but just to work your smartphone.  Totally worth it!

Songkick homepage

Here’s how it works:

Songkick offers listings of every concert in your area free of charge.  You set a regional location (mines set to Boston) and the app will list every concert in the city, artist lineup, its venue (the venue information includes its address with a Google map of the area) and a link for ticketing information.  But the coolest part about the app is that you can manage your concert schedule directly through your personal profile!  You have the option of selecting I’m Going or I’m Not Going on the concert page.  This information gets stored in your personal concert plans so, like those old home rotisserie grill infomercials, you can set it and forget it!  The app will send notifications leading up to the concert, making it an easy way to plan your concert schedules in advanced without having to do too much planning.

Songkick upcoming concerts

You also have the luxury of following the artists you like.  Songkick will send notifications when your artist’s book shows in your area, eliminating all the hassle of finding concerts.  Basically its musical entertainment made easy!

Songkick follow artist

And like any mobile app its social media savvy.  Connecting to a wide range of social networks, Songkick gives you the luxury of sharing shows and your planned concerts with your friends and the world!

Songkick makes life easy for music lovers.  The app will let you go to all the concerts you want and you’ll never again feel disappointed when you miss one of your favorite bands.  So get out there, enjoy some incredible music and remove the hassle.  You’ll be glad you did.
